Ed Drewett | October 2024
Ed’s career as a songwriter began in 2010 when The Wanted’s ‘All Time Low’, became his first No.1 record. Initially written with Steve Mac and Wayne Hector for Ed’s artist project, due to record label instability at the time, Ed knew the song stood a better chance with the Global backed Boyband, The Wanted. Ed, Steve and Wayne went on to pen ‘Glad You Came’, for the British band, reaching Number 1 on US Airplay and Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, Ed’s first US hit. Despite being released over 13 years ago, ‘Glad You Came’ has over 850,000,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Ed then became an integral part in the One Direction whirlwind, co-writing ‘Best Song Ever’, ‘Steal My Girl’ and ‘History’, amongst 10 other album tracks with the boys. Around the same time and staying true to his Pop roots, Ed co-penned ‘Black Magic’ for Little Mix, earning them 3 consecutive weeks at Number 1. Despite the success of these earlier songs, Ed’s biggest streamers came with British DJ, Jonas Blue, where Ed has amassed over 2 Billion streams between ‘Mama’, ‘Rise’ and ‘Polaroid’.
More recently Ed was across SG Lewis’, AudioLust And HigherLove album, showing a flexibility to Eds writing not showcased before. During the Summer of 2024, Ed’s work surpassed over Fifteen Billion streams.
